This year’s Festival was held a week or two later this year due to boat availability and tides. September weather is always something of a lottery but we had 3 good fishing days on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Although the weather turned against us on Wednesday and Thursday preventing us from fishing, a shift in the wind direction on Friday and the availability of our two skippers enabled us to make up one of the lost days fishing inshore and sheltered somewhat from the Northerly wind.
The Presentation evening was as usual thoroughly enjoyable and we were provided with an excellent meal by the staff of the Hannafore Point Hotel. Chairman Anthony Perry and President Armand Toms presented trophies, badges and certificates to winners and runners up. Prominent among the winners were Festival newcomers Steve Law from Gloucestershire and Dave Wood from Surrey, the prize for the highest number of points scored over the Festival being claimed by Anthony Perry.
Thanks are due to our 2 skippers Patrick Davis (Fortuna) and Phil Curtis (Typhoon) who have provided us with another great Festival.
